The subject of econometrics can be characterized as an attempt to find alternative estimators to the OLS estimator for situations in which the OLS estimator does not meet the estimating criterion considered to be of greatest importance in the problem at hand.
Bayesians maintain that, since human judgement is inevitably an ingredient in statistical procedure, it should be incorporated in a formal and consistent manner.
